Privacy Policy
Effective October 7, 2026
Scrolly Bible does not collect, store, or share any information about you. Everything you do in the app stays on your phone.
What the app collects
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The app does not connect to the internet. The Bible text, every translation, and all of your activity live on your device.
What stays on your phone
Your reading: where you left off, verses and chapters you've read, and recently opened chapters.
What you make: bookmarks, notes, and highlights.
Your settings: your translation, Daily Verse time, and read-aloud preferences.
This information is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. We cannot see it, and deleting the app deletes it. If your iPhone is backed up to iCloud or a computer, Apple includes it in that backup under Apple's own terms.
Backups you export
You can export a backup file of your notes, bookmarks, highlights, and progress. The file goes only where you choose to save or send it, such as Files, iCloud Drive, or AirDrop. We never receive it.
Sharing a verse
When you share a verse, the app hands its text and reference to the iOS share sheet, and you choose where it goes. The app never sends anything itself and never learns what you shared or with whom.
Microphone and speech recognition
If you choose to dictate a note, the app asks for microphone and speech recognition permission. Speech is turned into text on your device. Audio is never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere, and dictation is unavailable rather than sent to a server when your device can't do it on its own.
Daily Verse, widgets, and notifications
The Daily Verse is chosen on your phone from your own reading. Notifications are scheduled locally by your device, and the widget reads from storage on your device. No server is involved.
Ratings and App Store statistics
After you finish a few chapters, iOS may show Apple's standard rating prompt. Any rating goes directly to Apple.
Apple provides developers with aggregate statistics, such as how many times the app was downloaded, and, from people who have chosen to share it with developers in their iPhone settings, anonymous usage and crash data. This is collected by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, not by Scrolly Bible, and it cannot identify you.
Children
Scrolly Bible is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at scrollybible.com/privacy with a new effective date. Our commitment stays the same: just the Word, no tracking.
